Feeling a little Sad Today...
We will be heading north to be with our families for the next couple days. Dan's grandmother passed away Friday night. It's sad for me because I had lost all my grandparents but I still had Dan's Gram. She lived to be 98 so she had a very long life but it's still rough when someone you love passes on. She was the sharpest little woman I'd ever met. Word to the wise out there, instead of spending long hours in front of the TV...READ! She read everything and loved word finds. I seriously believe that is why she stayed so sharp. I'll be missing Dan's Little Gram. On the bright side...she's one more Guardian Angel that I have watching out for me in heaven!

Aw Steph, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Thinking about you as you travel to be with family, and hope your wonderful memories of Gram will be with you. Take care - Janet
Thank you everyone for your kind words.(Dan thanks you too!) I think the thing that is starting to get to me as I grow older is that my folks are next in line and someday, I hope not in the near future but in the future, I will have to deal with what my folks have dealt with with their parents. I know it's just a part of life but it would be better for me if they just lived forever...I think you all understand.
Our thoughts are with you....As always.
Steph, my thoughts are with you and Dan. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Dan's Gram. She sounds like she was very special to both of you.
And regarding your comment: I totally understand and all I can say is cherish every moment you can with your parents. Mine were both taken too soon for my liking.
So sorry to hear about your loss. I've lost 3 of my grandparents over the last couple years and know that it's hard. With their gentle words and a lifetime of wisdom, you hate to see them go.
Have a safe trip my S.S.
So sorry for your and Dan's loss. I'm praying for you both.
My prayers are with you and Dan. It is so sad to let a loved one go. But you did get to have her til she was 98. You have all those memories to reflect on and that is for life. May your Angel ride with you forever.
Steph, Sorry to hear about that; my condolences. A prayer to you and those close to you, Pappy
IHG. I am truly sorry as you know. Dan comes to visit me almost every day and I knew Matilda quite well. She was truly a one of a kind. I've never seen a 90+ year old able to do that New York Times crossword puzzle as fast as she did Every single day. I know Dan is missing her as I am. I think he will be overwhelmed to know that your community of friends has been thinking of him at this time as well. Keep a watch over all of us Matilda! We'll all miss you.
So sorry to hear about your loss. I too lost all my grand parents when I was really young. The I got some new ones when I met my wife. Eventually they all passed as well. Life goes on my friend. Live in the here an now, and be happy. Don't mourn for too long. She live a long life. She would be sad if you didn't move on.
