Deadly Tornado - Parkersburg, IA

Tragedy hit the town of Parkersburg, IA today in the form of a tornado. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in Parkersburg. I stopped in this town many a time in my youth, since I grew up in Cedar Falls. Cherish everyday that you have because you never know when something like this can change your life completely.

Here is a link to WHO Channel 13 in Des Moines. There is raw video footage from Chopper 13 of the damage. http://www.whotv.com/global/story.asp?s=8378124

You know I thought of you when I saw this on the news. The destruction is just unbelievable. I'm so glad you and your family weren't affected by it.

In the video, it's so strange how the camera pans across such devastation, and then all of a sudden you see a few homes that appear untouched. Scary stuff!

Mother nature certainly is on a temper tantrum lately! Glad to hear you are OK, but I pray for those poor people who lost everything. Stay safe.

Glad you are OK. My thoughts are with the town's residents.

When I lived in Cresco, IA a tornado hit just outside of the town. Lot of frazzled nerves, downed power cables, missing shingles and even a silo that was twisted but still standing.

I have been through 13 tornadoes so far in this little life. Any more they don't bother me too much. When I see one, I just switch into emergency mode and enjoy the experience of raw nature.

Oh, did I mention I was struck by lightning once?
