Are you superstitious? Do you have a certain routine thing that you do before you ride or while you ride? Do you have something that you carry with you on each ride? Is there a certain article of clothing that you have to wear each and every time you ride?
I would say I'm quite superstitious when it comes to riding. I have a bag of little treasures that I always carry with me on a ride, including 3 guitar picks(Sixx, Frehley, & Keifer), 3 Harley Davidson Poker Chips, 3 crosses, a Mother Mary relic, an Angel of Hope coin, a motorcycle pin, and a piece of chrome that my Dad gave me that says Harley Davidson on it.(I just noticed that the number 3 comes up 3 times here...oh my) I also have 3 "I'm an Old Dirty Biker" pins but those won't always be in there once I find 3 ODBs to give them too.
I also carry the piece of the broken turn signal that my Rider's Edge instructor gave me after I passed the course. This was a result of a mishap I had attempting one of the course skills in our practice. It reminds me that the front brake is only your friend when you use it correctly.
At the beginning of each motorcycle adventure I say 5 Hail Mary prayers in a row. Mary has a special meaning to me and praying to her is something I've always done.
I can't be the only one that does this stuff. Come on, don't be afraid!!! Share!!!

I wear my Army dog tags when I ride. Partly for nostalgia, partly so the authorities can identify my charred remains.
One of my friends kneels down near her bike and says a little prayer.
When I get in my saddle, I focus on my mortality and those riders who had passed on. It brings focus to my riding.
Yes, there is a little ride bell hanging from the bottom of my bike. Guess that is as superstitious as I get.
Oh wow... I've never thought much about it. I have the stereotypical gremlin bell hang from the bottom of my bike, but other than that I carry nothing for good luck..... Maybe I'm doomed.

RE2112 & Utah - oh my...i forgot my bells. Wow now I'm feeling even more like a freak! I have 2. One on each side of my bike. I got one from Kissy Lovestuff and the other from Lady R.
Utah - doubt your doomed. I think I'm a little overly superstitious. lol!
I walk around the bike 3 times (there's the number 3 again)in a counterclockwise direction while reciting the lyrics of Born to Be Wild backwards. Oh, sorry, that's the fertility rite. ;-)
No, like Utah, I just have a little bell that may or may not work but I figure, what the hell, it's worth a try. Then again I have also been known to walk under ladders and break the odd mirror.
First of all, I love Stevie Ray Vaughn! Not that has anything to do with real superstition. the only thing that is steeped in superstition for me is a bell. gotta have one, and it has to be given to you, if you buy it for yourself, it's not the same.
Only got two things that I make sure go on every ride – me & the bike. I’ll walk under ladders, break mirrors and I like black cats. The only bell I ever had was on a tricycle. Maybe that’s the problem.
I always carry three things. A St. Margaret's Medal my aunt gave me when she found out I started riding my own, a crucifix I got during an Easter service many years ago, and a dime. The dime is a personal, but meaningful symbol, (I'll tell you that story some other time). And of course... I have a gremlin bell also. Gotta keep those evil doers away from our bikes!!
my guardian bell (oh and my ability to ride down/off the center divide) saved my ass at least once! :)
yup, i also kiss bob's ignition switch and tell him we are going to have a great ride before we leave the house, every time. and personally i dont think its for the superstition of it, rather i think its the focus that this act brings me/the rider which helps each/every ride.
