VP Debate

Joe Biden - too slick
Sarah Palin - too happy go lucky

I think I might vote for myself!

I saw a skit the other day where Amy Poehler (as Katie Couric) asked Tina Fey (as Palin), "Do you think it's fair to say that when you don't know the answer to a question, you get 'cuter'?" It was a riot.

Tonight's debate: sad.

I'm voting for you, too, Steph! You'll see it on the news where someone in Arizona wrote-in for Iowa Patriot Girl!!! :)

Sorry Joker, we've already had too many of those in office. I vote for Steph too.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the debate and forgot to DVR it, but from the soundbites I heard it was indeed very sad.

Thanks Ann, B.B., and fasthair. Glad you have faith in me that I could be the VP of the US of A! :)

B.B. - I couldn't stop cracking up at your comment to Joker. That was really good!! :)

Joker - so you think your better then me, huh? Bring it on Mr.!! lol!!

I still like Sarah Palin's spirit, I just felt like she is someone that could be my friend but not someone that is ready to be a Vice President. She was too cutesie with some of her answers. You never know...she might improve by November. I'm still up in the air with who I'm voting for. Hey D-Day is Barr still a candidate?

No way would I even try to compete with you Steph, and there is no doubt you are better looking.

BB has a point, but if you really think about that, all it does is make Palin look better. Think about some of the veeps we've had. Spiro Agnew, Fritz Mondale and (gulp) Dan Quale! Compare to Dano, Sarah Palin is the Poet-Laureate.

Something else to think about. All the talk is that because of Tina Fey's lampooning of Palin on SNL, she's become a "national joke," suggesting she's not VP material, and certainly not capable of being "a heartbeat away" from the top job. What a load of CRAP! So, what's it mean that they've been lampooning Slick Willy for years, and he was THE PRESIDENT! How about Amy Poehler doing Hillary? She's been doing that for a LOT longer than Tina's been doing Sarah, yet nobody said that made her a "national joke."

This woman is a small town Mayor and Governor who has ONLY RECENTLY been under the scrutiny of millions of people - and she has held her own against others who've been doing it for YEARS. Give the lady a break for God's sake.

Joe Biden recently said that FDR was President during the 1929 Stock Market Crash that triggered the Great Depression, except that HE WAS NOT. FDR was elected in 1933!! Biden also said that FDR went on television to calm the American people about the crisis...TELEVISION WASN'T EVEN INVENTED THEN!! Honest to God, if Palin had said EITHER of those things, the race would be OVER.

Here is Katie Couric's full response to Biden's bizarre outburst about FDR (a) being president and (b) going on TV in 1929, and I quote: "Relating to the fears of the average American is one of Biden's strong suits."

The only thing that's sad here is that the biased liberal media takes Palin's slightest mis-step and blows it into her incompetence and lack of qualification for the job. Biden could be on Meet The Press and start screaming "SOMEBODY GET THESE SNAKES OFF OF ME!!!" at the top of his lungs, and Katie Couric would say, "That's just Joe being Joe."

Let's get a reality check here people! Sarah's not that bad!

Well, Joker, like I said I didn't see it. I only heard soundbites and what other people have been talking about. Don't get me wrong, I still like her, and my comment about all the Jokers in office had nothing to do with her, so I hope it wasn't taken that way.
BTW, who's FDR? LOL. Just kidding1

BB: It'd take a lot more than a political opinion for me to get cross with you. It doesn't even matter if you like her or not. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I just like to point out what to me seems an unfair slamming of her by the media. That's why I brought up the FDR (who's he? LOL) story. What's more bizzarre is that's not my opinion, it's really true. That happened.

I guess I just like to route for the underdog! :)

Joker, I heard Biden talk about FDR and the crash, and TV..WTF? It was a true WTF moment for me. I'm really disgusted with both parties right now. Maybe you and Steph should be running mates! :)

Yeah, and then they could appoint all of us to really high power postitions. We would rock this country!

BIden kept saying "he was dead wrong" all the time. No one is completely dead wrong...it made him terribly suspect.

Don't forget that Joseph Biden was also the mastermind behind the attempted destruction of Justice Clarence Thomas before he was appointed to the supreme court.

I'd say he's a slick one.
